The September Push-Up Challenge: One Small Rep at a Time
Confidence doesn’t usually arrive all at once.
It grows in the moments when a student tries something that feels a little difficult, practices it again, and begins to notice: “I’m getting better at this.”
That’s the idea behind our September Push-Up Challenge.
For 30 days, girls and guys will gradually build their push-ups, starting with just a few reps and working their way up throughout the month. Students can choose wall, incline, knee, or traditional push-ups, whatever meets them where they are.
Because this challenge isn’t about who can do the most.
It’s about what happens when students keep showing up.
Why Push-Ups?
Push-ups give students something they can practice and actually see change over time.
A few reps may feel challenging at first. But with practice, those same reps can begin to feel different. Students might notice they feel stronger, their form improves, or they can do something they couldn’t do at the beginning of the month.
That progress matters.
It gives students real evidence that effort can lead somewhere, and that they are capable of growing.
Confidence Needs Reps, Too
At Rise Girl™ and Rise Guy™, we believe confidence is built through experience.
It happens when a student raises their hand even though they aren’t completely sure. Tries again after making a mistake. Joins something new. Practices a skill that doesn’t come easily yet.
Just like building physical strength, those experiences take repetition.
One rep becomes another. Progress starts to show. And little by little, “I don’t know if I can” can become “Look what I can do now.”
That’s a lesson students can carry far beyond this challenge.
